THIS SEASON
Ashli Sandoval enters her second season at USC as a mainstay in the Trojan midfield, wielding a powerful foot for set plays as well as a deft ability to feed into USC's attack.
2007:
Sandoval was USC's assists leader as a freshman, serving up 11 for the third-best single-season total in USC history and No. 2 mark in the Pac-10... Played in all 25 games and started 23... Scored two goals along with her 11 assists for 15 points on the year... First career goal came as the game-winner against Oakland... Also had the game-winner against Washington... Assisted on both USC goals in NCAA Semifinal win over UCLA... Earned national honors as Soccer America Second Team All-Freshman and SoccerBuzz Second Team Freshman All-America... Regional awards came as NSCAA/adidas Third Team All-West Region and SoccerBuzz West Region All-Freshman... Named to Pac-10 All-Freshman Team.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Was the 2005 CIF Division Player of the Year and an four-time all-CIF first team selection at Granite Hills High... Also named conference MVP as a senior... Granite Hills team was a CIF finalist all four years and won the 2005 CIF title... Named league Player of the Year in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and a four-time first team all-leaguer... Also ran track and cross country, finishing eighth in the 2004 CIF cross country race... A 2004 CIF and all-league first team pick... Played club soccer for San Diego Surf and Hotspurs... U-15 team won 2005 Surf Cup title... A U.S. under-17 national team pool player... Played four years with Cal South `89 ODP, winning 2006 Regionals and 2006 national co-championship.
