Briana Gilbreath enters her first season at USC.
HIGH SCHOOL
Gilbreath was a 2008 McDonald's All-American and a four-time All-District first team pick out of Cinco Ranch High in Katy, Texas... A 2008 Mike Skills All-American, Wooten Award finalist, Parade Third Team All-American and EA Sports First Team All-Amerian and earned WBCA High School All-American honorable mention... Selected to PrepTicket.com's All-Houston First Team... Averaged 14.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 4 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game... Named to several all-state and Houston Chronicle all-area teams... As a junior, named to 18-5A All-District First Team and TABC All-Region Team... A member of the 2007 USA Basketball Under-18 Olympic Junior Development Team... With club team West Coast Elite, reached Junior Nationals Final Four and Nike Nationals semis in 2007... A four-time all-academic honoree.
PERSONAL
Briana Renee Gilbreath was born Aug. 16, 1990 in Houston, Texas... The daughter of Wardell and Audrey, she has one sister, Stefanie, who also plays for USC... Her father was a track and field athlete at Arizona... Enjoys cooking, reading, shopping and sewing in her free time.. Names Scottie Pippen as her biggest sports hero... Would like to one day go snowboarding and travel to Italy, Brazil and Germany... Hopes to play in the WNBA after graduation... Has not decided on a major.
