Los Angeles - William Strickland had 20 kills to lead No. 6 Stanford to a 30-26, 36-34, 30-25 win over USC in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match at the USC Lyon Center on Saturday.

Stanford improved to 6-6 overall and 4-4 in the MPSF, while USC dropped to 3-8 and 1-6.

Strickland hit a blistering .621 for the match, while teammate Paul Bocage added 12 kills for the Cardinal, who hit .353 as a team.

For the Trojans, Mark Dusharme had a team-high 12 kills to go along with eight digs, while Ian Gallagher added nine kills.

Momentum in the match turned in the second game, when Stanford rallied from a 28-22 deficit to win 36-34.

The Trojans hit just .147 and were out-blocked 11-6.

USC next travels to No. 1 UC Irvine for an MPSF match on Wednesday (Feb. 12).
