USC freshman diver Michael Hilde, a Pac-10 champion and one of only two Trojans to score individually in three events at the 2004 NCAA Championships, was named Pac-10 Men's Newcomer Diver of the Year.

Hilde, from Mission Viejo, Calif., won the platform title at the 2004 Pac-10 Championships and was second on 3-meter. At the NCAAs, he finished 11th on both 3-meter and platform and 13th on 1-meter.

Hilde was the first Trojan diver to score in all three specialties in the same meet since Justin Dumais in 1999.

Arizona State's Joona Puhakka, who won the NCAA 3-meter title, was Pac-10 Diver of the Year.
